Submissions must be under 30 minutes in length and must fit into one of

the following categories:

Historical

Bio/autobiographical

Social Issue

All video submitted to the festival must be in NTSC format.

Submissions must be accompanied by a 1/2" VHS copy of the video. Festival winners will be notified in advance of the final screening at which time a DV tape can be submitted.

All entries should be shipped in appropriate containers and insured for replacement cost. Entries submitted in fiber-filled envelopes will not be accepted.

An official entry form or a duplication and a check must accompany each submission.

Submission of an entry gives the Festival permission to have accepted works photographed, telecast and /or reproduced, either in part or while, for the purpose of publicizing the Festival.

Participants who would like their entries returned must include a self-addressed, postage-paid mailer with their submission.

NIU Reality Bytes is not responsible for any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits or royalty infringements related to the work. Submission of an entry to the Festival signifies that the entrant understands, accepts and agrees to all conditions.

NIU Reality Bytes reserves the right to decline entries and fees in extenuating circumstances.

Each entry must include a copy of the student's ID card and must be accompanied by an entry form and check.

  • A $15.00 (US) non-refundable fee for entries submitted prior to February 15, 2005.
  • A $20.00 non-refundable fee for entries submitted after February 15, 2005.
  • International money orders cannot be accepted
  • All entries must be postmarked by March 15, 2005.
