WNBA

The WNBA was finally born in 1996. After several unsuccessful attempts at professional women's basketball leagues, the WNBA should survive.

But the WNBA may eventually merge with the other professional women's league right now, the ABL. While the ABL does pay its players more money, the WNBA is backed by the NBA, so it has more exposure and has more fan support.
