Houston began her career early in life. She grew up in New Jersey, and spent most of her time in her parents church. Singing is in the genes of Houston's family. She comes from a family of singers, including her mother, Cissy Houston and aunt Dionne Warwick.
Houston shocked the world with her petite figure and powerful voice. She sang songs about love, life and self improvement.
She really surprised the world with her spell-bounding hits, "Saving All My Love," "Greatest Love of All" and "I'm Your Baby Tonight." After that, there was no stopping her! She had hit after hit!
The hits weren't enough for Houston. There was still a void in her life. That's when she met R&B singer Bobby Brown of the hit group New Edition. The two married in the mid '90s. Not long after, she had a daughter, Bobbi Christina.
After she married, she still had something to accomplish. In the early 90's she accepted the starring role in the movie "Bodyguard." In the movie she played a famous star who was being stalked by a killer.
In between filming the movie, Houston found out she was pregnant again. Houston had a miscarriage.
The next mission for Houston was the filming of "Preacher's Wife. In the movie, Houston played the wife of a preacher, who was so involved in helping others until he forgot about his own family. With the help of an angel he bonds with his family.
The mission was not over though, Houston wanted to show her versatility in roles, so she starred in the fairytale "Cinderella". Along with the teen sensation Brandy, Houston proved to be a success again!
