The College of Visual and Performing Arts
The College of Visual and Performing Arts is one of the leading arts
colleges in the nation, offering large and comprehensive programs in the
visual arts, music, theatre and dance. These programs are based on the
study of the great western European/American tradition as well as non-western
traditions and applications of technology. The college takes pride in
the vision of its faculty and curricula and the regional, national, and
international impact of its alumni.
The college is a major provider of artistic
services to the region in ways that strengthen the synergy of teaching-learning
and artistry. The visual art, music, theatre, and dance culture of northern
Illinois would be impoverished if the college did not exist. Faculty,
alumni, and current students contribute daily to the cultural vitality
of the region.
The College of Visual and Performing Arts depends upon private support
to undertake new initiatives and maintain its position as an arts leader.
Arts Fund 21
Arts Fund 21 is the College of Visual and Performing Arts leadership giving
society. Members contribute $1,000 or more annually to the college and
may leave their gift unrestricted or designate some or all of their gift.
Arts Funds 21 enables the college to meet unforeseen emergencies, enhance
existing programs, and create new initiatives such as the Undergraduate
Artistry and Research Apprenticeship Program. Arts Fund 21 members are
asked to give only once a year, are recognized in all college publications,
and receive free admission to all ticketed events.
