Malone, Vice President Development & University Relations      SUBJECT:  FY 2001 Foundation Grant Application Process   Enclosed please find the guidelines, timeline, and application forms for the FY 2001 Foundation grant application process. As in the past, NIU Foundation grants come in two categories: Opportunity Grants and a Strategic Initiative Grant. Applications for both grants are included in this packet.   Opportunity Grants range from $2,500 to $10,000 and are reviewed twice a year. A single Strategic Initiative Grant of $25,000 is awarded in the spring. All grant proposals are coordinated through the Provost's office.   Our purpose is to get the very best ideas in front of our Grants Committee and full Foundation Board.   Please share this information with your faculty and staff and emphasize the deadlines. This information will be available on the NIU website by Friday August 18 and can be accessed at www.niu.edu/devrel/giving. Thank you for your help in making this grant process so successful.
