What do I need to include in my proposal and my final paper?

The proposal should include a description of your position, the number of hours you'll work and the specific credit hours you wish to receive. In addition, it should mention the relevance of the internship to your major and your future career goals. The final paper can be written as a weakly log of duties, or as a description of major projects and responsibilities. It should be 10 to 12 pages in length, with at least the last two pages dedicated to an evaluation of the internship (Was it beneficial to you? What did you learn? How will it help you in the future?). Both papers should be typed and free of grammatical errors.

Is it too late to get an internship for the summer?

No, you can still find an internship and sign up for credit. There's no deadline for registering, but many companies are already starting to fill their summer positions, so get started soon.

How much credit can I get for an internship?

You can get up to 6 hours of COMS 497, 3 hours of COMS 407, or 3 hours of JOUR 492. COMS 407 can be done only in conjunction with COMS 497. Also, please note that only 3 hours of COMS 497 will count toward your COMS major. Come see me if you're not sure how much credit you need, or how it will affect your major requirements.

How much work do I have to do for an internship?

Well, you need to turn in a proposal and an application before you start the internship. Then, just go to work and keep track of your hours (40 hours for every hour of credit). At the end of the semester, you will turn in a 10-12 page paper and your employer will turn in an evaluation of you.
