Audio Editing Lab
The Audio Editing Suite is used to teach COMS 357. Located in Watson Hall 230, the lab features four stations, all equipped with Macintosh G4 computers running ProTools. Each station has a Digi001 or Digi002 unit for input. Three soundproofed Whisper Rooms are available for recording. Students store work in progress on FireWire drives, and the machines are networked for flexibility. Each machine is equipped with DVD/CD-RW drives for storage and production of final projects. The lab has a large collection of royalty-free public domain sound effects and music. Students also have the opportunity to earn COMS 407 credit by working in the lab as an attendant.
