In athletic vernacular, Jeffrey and Kimberly Yordon are true difference makers for Northern Illinois University and, specifically, Huskie Athletics. Their leadership gift to the Academic and Athletic Performance Center helped turn a vision into a reality for 486 deserving Huskie student-athletes.

As a former Huskie football letter-winner and political science and business graduate, Jeff rekindled his love for NIU by reconnecting with the program after he attended the Bowling Green game in 2002. Since that time, he and Kimberly have been avid supporters of Northern Illinois University, and you can typically find Jeff cheering on the Huskies up close and personal on the sideline (home and away). Additionally, Jeff and Kimberly have made it a family affair, as daughter Rachel attended NIU Womens Soccer Camp in the summer of 2006 and was an award-winning camper!
Vision
passion
leadership
inspiration. These four words characterize Northern Illinois Universitys view of the role Jeffrey and Kimberly Yordon continue to play in making the Academic and Athletic Performance Center project come to fruition.
Having a vision is just the beginning. It takes people who believe in the outcome, and take the leap of faith, to turn the vision into reality. People with vision, passion, leadership, and the ability to inspire others are the ones who have helped ensure this vision becomes a reality. It takes people like Jeff and Kimberly Yordon.

| Number one, NIU desperately needs it. I saw that Joe Novak wasnt just building a team, but a program. In 2003, they went 10-2 and I went to every game home and away, and was hooked. I had seen other MAC facilities, and theyre wonderful. I became convinced that the last part of Novaks rebuilding plan couldnt be completed without this facility. Now Ive put my money where my mouth is, and people will listen to me now about the need NIU has for this facility. As an ex-athlete and graduate I felt I needed to step up and show my commitment. |
