Professor Ridinger's areas of interest and specialization lie in cultural
ecology, the archaeology of Mesoamerica, North America, Africa and South
Asia and the emerging field of gay and lesbian studies. He served as a
librarian at the National University of Lesotho as a Peace Corps Volunteer
and as a subject and research librarian for anthropology, sociology and
several related social sciences has centered much of his writing on creating
bibliographies and reference works in anthropology and regional archaeology,
as well as serving as a reviewer of anthropological publications for CHOICE
and American Reference Books Annual. He has served as chair of the Anthropology
and Sociology and Asian, African and Middle Eastern Studies sections of
the Association of College and Research Libraries and also serves on the
board of directors of the Leather Archives and Museum.
