CYBORG CULTURE

 - New Entertainment Frontiers: Computer Technology

The constant incorporation of technology for the cyborg may affect other aspects of his life. With dimensional experiences that provide sensory impact, a new generation of cybersex, "Virtual Valerie", may alter the way we interrelate with one another.

Created by Mike Saenz, the prototype comes equipped with hardware, software, 3D display, 3D input via gloves, advanced interaction, and relativistic audio/video, almost rendering the real cyborg to cyborg interface impotent. While the concept dates back to Nam June Paik in the mid 60s, the reality of cybersex shifting from a communicative intercourse to a technological intercourse is forthcoming in a matter of time.

What will this mean to relationships as we know them today? Will they be better, worse, or just different? What kind of communicative skills will the cyborg need to establish and maintain relationships?
