This technology was created in helping teams or groups work more efficiently. The most commonly known within this technology is groupware. It usually comes in the form of software that is networked on a team's computers. It usually aids in decision making aspects of a workteam. Workers can type issues and answers for a specific topic into the computer. From there, the computer tabulates the entries and displays them for the team to consider.
According to Thach and Woodman, virtual reality for teamwork will be available in the future. Workers will be able to collaborate with other workers on an international scale all through a computer. They also define cyberspace as, "..a collective consensual hallucination, a computer-maintained virtual world in which, through ideas from scientific visualization, cognitive entities would take on tangible form to facilitate access and manipulation." Thach and Woodman go on to say that cyberspace will likely not be available for another twenty to thirty years, even though online services such as the Internet is considered as such (37).
