CYBORG CULTURE

- Social Segmentation

No matter which vantage point you take, the cyborg culture is gray.

It bleeds from the input of individuals. It is cleansed and reformed with every new piece of information provided to it from the individual. It is polluted and disjointed with each inclusion and analysis of the individual.

The cyborg society is the recipient and beneficiary of the one. Whether the individual influences the cyborg culture or whether the cyborg culture manifests the individual is debatable. This is not dissimilar to the graying of "human cultural perspectives" of collectivism and individualism. Various cultures have varying degrees between the extremes, and they are constantly influenced and changing along the continuum. Additionally, subgroups, families, social class differentiation of today's culture may require reinvention and transformation into a cyborg culture.

Also, the interconnectivity of cultures may be subject to change. Recall the impact of eastern philosophies to western traders and imagine the conflict of a human culture interacting with a cyborg culture on a global scale.

What impact will the cyborg have on culture? What impact will culture have on the cyborg? And how can the two survive and flourish under the same canopy? What will happen to the world as we know it as it transforms into a cybor-culture?
