Religious Icon Candidates

Martyrs can be very influential symbols for most religions. Did the Heaven’s Gate cult fail to achieve the cyborg transformation they believed in because of the limited extension capabilities that they had? Where they thinking in terms of the cyborg? Read the following passage from "Last Chance to Advance Beyond Human" and decide for yourself if other cyborgs who want to transcend to greater levels would not look upon Heaven’s Gate as martyrs of the cause.
