Tongan Concept of Neighborhood

 

This research was supported by a Research and Artistry Grant from the Graduate College at Northern Illinois University during summer 2002.

During some preliminary interviews about social networks, Tongan villagers used the concept of neighborhood in ways that puzzled my expectations. After a thorough analysis of the interviews, the major finding were summarized in the following article:
